“Tell me about it”
“I can’t remember the exact number. But this has been going on for months”
“It’s a good thing isn’t it? Freebies on your doorstep!”
“More like creepy freebies from someone who might as well kidnap or kill you”
“You really need to stop reading psychological thriller book, Sara”
Sara sighed and sipped her very last sip of latte. She had spent 2 hours ranting about her current issue over coffee after work with Dan, her friend who lived next door.
“I’ve been hoping that it had gotten into a wrong address. But since my name is written on the sticky notes, I got that sudden chills. I mean come on, this is getting overwhelming”
“But you’ve once told me that you did like the playlist”
“Yeah I do liked the playlist and the books. But other than that— Well, I don’t know how to explain it to you”
“Did you threw it in the dump?”
“I was about to. But then I changed my mind. I put them safely in a box. You know as a precaution. If this creep happened to be a serial killer or something, I have the proof of evidences”
Dan bursts out laughing and shook his head in disbelief. Sara looked at him confusingly.
“At least the creeper knows your favorites”
“Not only my favorites, this person knows my current mood, what I’ve been through, what I need, everything. It’s devastating”
“Well isn’t it a good thing? You have someone who look out for you from afar”
“Dan, I don’t even know what kind of creature this creeper is!”
“Maybe you should try to look for ‘signs’ around you”
“For god sake, I lived in a small flat only with a pug, Dan. My family are overseas, I don’t have many friends. I worked 9 to 5, sometimes I continue to work at home, I’ve been binge watching episodes that I have missed from my favorite TV shows and sleep a lot on weekends. Who to expect?”
As Sara’s voice risen, silence fills the gap between their empty cups of coffee.
Dan put his fist right in front of his mouth, his eyes wandered around, thinking.
“Maybe you need to stop and look around for a while, you know. Because, you could miss it”
“What could I miss?”
“The signs, maybe the creeper have been trying to tell you something”
“A creeper is just a creeper, Dan. What they do is stalk. Trying to interfere your life. Watching you—”
“Have you ever consider their feelings?”
“What do you mean?”
“They wrote you notes, bought you the things you need, knew how you feel. They do have feelings for you”
“Right, and now you’re on their side. Dan, I am telling you this because I need you to help me figure out who the hell is this creep that have been trying to interfere my life for months”
Sara paused in disbelief as Dan stated his words
“Sara, there’s nothing to figure out”, his gaze fixed on her brown eyes.
“I guess it always happened like that isn’t it? When you love someone, you do everything you can to be with them by expressing your feelings. But this feeling turned out to be not as bold as you think it would. Or. it might even too bold to be noticed. You strongly believe in these feelings, so you try another way to express them. Unfortunately, all you see is dead end. So maybe, the only thing to make them realize is to tell them right in front of their face, once again”
“Dan, please don’t tell me—”
“Sara”
“You never told—“
“A person who cares a lot about you but too shy to admit and express his feelings. That’s what kind of a creature I am, Sara”
